Vodafone 360
Mobile apps for a new standards-based platform.
“Can you please create 6 apps for multiple handsets by the end of the month? We’d also like them each to be available in 5 different languages.”
That was the challenge presented to us when Vodafone contacted us to port our Tube Exits app to be ready for the launch of their new 360 store. We had to make a separate Tube Exits app for each of London, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Madrid and Barcelona. Aside from the challenge of sourcing the data (that’s another story!) we had to ensure that these apps all worked on all of Vodafone’s 360 handsets and each in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
“We have been impressed by the quality of Wavana delivery in terms of user experience, visual design, features and fast turnaround.”
- Hakim Mendjeli, Principal Manager Apps Program, Vodafone Global
Not only did we hit the deadline, we raised the bar. We also included a range of new features, such as locating nearest Tube/Metro stations and showing the live status of the Tube lines.
Key features
- Available for metro systems in London, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Madrid and Barcelona
- Available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish
- Nearest Tube/Metro station (GPS-linked map)
- Live line status report
“Vodafone launched the Vodafone 360 App Store in November 2009. We contacted Wavana Interactive to port their popular London Tube Exits iPhone app on to our 360 Shop. They managed to deliver a very high quality London Tube Exits app in a very short time frame. This app works on all Nokia touch and non touch devices as well as the Samsung H1 and M1. They also delivered for us similar Tube Exits apps for 5 other key European cities. We have been impressed by the quality of Wavana delivery in terms of User experience, visual design, features and fast turnaround. We are currently promoting the Tube Exits app on the 360 Shop.”
